I built Heist because I was tired of watching contractors get burned by agencies that don't pick up the phone. No portal. No gatekeeper. Just me.

How Heist actually started

I'd been doing marketing for contractors for years before Heist had a name. I worked inside agencies. I watched how they pitched. I watched what got promised on the sales call vs. what got delivered on the work side. The gap was massive — and the contractor was always the one paying for it.

The breaking point wasn't dramatic. It was a paving guy in East Tennessee who'd been with an agency for 14 months, paid them $42,000 total, and couldn't tell me where a single one of his leads came from. Worse — the agency owned his website, his hosting, his Google Business Profile, and his CRM. He couldn't leave even if he wanted to.

That's when I decided — if I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it the opposite way.

What that means in practice

I built Heist around four things that most agencies refuse to do: scale, control, transparency, partnership. Your website lives on your hosting. Your CRM lives in your account. Your GBP is in your name. Your data is yours. You can leave with 30 days notice and we hand you the keys.

We practice what we preach — control, transparency, speed. Everything is in-house. We don't white-label. We don't outsource. If you hire Heist, the same small team is who builds the work, runs the work, and shows up in your Monthly Momentum Meeting.

What I actually do day-to-day

  • Strategy calls. Every new prospect talks to me. Not a setter. Not a closer. Me.

  • Onboarding. First 30 days, I'm in your business deep — figuring out what's broken and what's working.
  • The phone. If you text the number, I'm the one texting back.
  • Practice what we preach. We run our own marketing the way we run yours. If a tactic isn't working for us, it isn't going to work for you.

What's outside the work

Home is Johnson City, Tennessee. My wife Jasmine and our son keep me honest about why I'm building this — so I can be there for the things that matter and still help contractors who deserve better.

I'm a member of YPJC — the Young Professionals of Johnson City. I serve where I can. The local angle isn't a marketing pitch. It's just how I was raised.
